"IF YOU WANNA WIN ELECTIONS... GET TO WORK..."

-Howard Dean

The message has been delivered loud and clear: take nothing for granted

Who would have thought that former Senator Ted Kennedy's Senate seat would fall into the hands of a Republican? Last night, the citizens of Massachusetts elected a Republican U.S. Senator for the first time in almost 40 years!

Ohio Democratic Party

Thanks to you and so many others, Democrats enjoyed historic victories in 2006 and 2008.  But we are not done winning yet.  We know how hard we all fought for the victories of 2006 and 2008, and we know how hard we will need to fight to win at all levels in 2010.

It is a historic moment in Ohio to build on our successes and it will take an enormous effort.  That’s why we are asking you to join us today.

President Obama's call to action on health care

We've all seen the footage on TV: Across America, protestors organized by the insurance industry and the Republican Party are making it impossible for Democratic members of Congress to talk to their constituents about health care reform.

The airwaves are filled with millions of dollars of commercials paid for by insurers, pharmaceutical companies, and hospitals designed to frighten Americans and obscure the truth.

And of course right wing talk radio and FOX News TV commentators, like Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity are on the air everyday spreading misinformation and fear. In recent days Limbaugh, who has never hesitated to wallow in the mud, has sunk lower than ever by comparing President Obama and the Democrats to Hitler and the Nazis. That's right, we Democrats are apparently all Nazis--at least according to the great white prevaricator.

Why have the anti-reform interests stepped up their campaign? Because they think if they yell their lies loud and long enough they'll kill reform.

And they may be right.

That's why President Obama is aksing all of us to support his efforts to make helath care reform a reality. Not by shouting back at the opposition, but by becoming educated and actively participating in the debate. Our website now features links to the information you need to learn the truth about the reform proposals backed by the President, Congressional Democrats, and reliable reform advocates like the AARP.

Once you've read the articles, tell your family, friends, and neighbors the truth. Don't hesitate to join in the discussion at the coffee shop, the hair salon, the barbershop, or the baseball field. Attend a town hall meeting if your congressperson conducts one and speak out. Call local talk radio when you hear the lies, write letters to the editor, and send everyone on your e-mail list the link to this site so they can learn the truth:

America needs health care reform.  Only we can make it happen.
