Chairman Betras comments on Local GOP criticisms

Like most residents of Mahoning County, I am deeply concerned about the indictments handed down yesterday by the special grand jury.

 I am also concerned that an official of the Republican Party, whose candidates have been soundly rejected by the voters of this community in election after election, would attempt to exploit this situation for political gain.

SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE ESTABLISHES YOUTUBE PRESENCE

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner's office has created a YouTube channel where citizens can follow the work of the office. YouTube is another way the office has embraced technology to provide additional outreach to Ohioans.

Ryan, Valley Score Big in Defense Bill

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan says his recent appointment to the U.S. House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee is already starting to pay off. Ryan announced Tuesday that the fiscal 2011 defense-spending bill includes $37.5 million for projects in the 17th District, $17.5 million of which is earmarked for research and development efforts in the Mahoning Valley.
