In a big win for the county, The Fund for Our Economic Future awarded funds for three projects in the region, two of which are from Mahoning County. Thirty-one days of voting resulted in a total of 43,199 points (39%) for Mahoning County projects, out of 112,136 total.

The winners are "Rollin' on the River: Mahoning River Corridor Redevelopment Project" and "Mahoning-Youngstown Regional Information System (MYRIS)," in first and third place respectively. Second place went to "Westshore Regional Fire District Project - Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties."
