1. Mahoning County's Habitat for Humanity is one of the top 10 finalists from across the U.S. for a grant from Green America.

“The Abraham House Project” is an affordable house using high efficiency materials, and will be built through interfaith cooperation. Following is the web site where you can vote for this Mahoning County project. Only a few hundred votes separate the candidates! Voting closes July 19th.

2. ISLE Inc. in downtown Youngstown, which provides services to adults with developmental disabilities, is among at least two local projects that qualified for the Pepsi Refresh grant program, which awards money to nonprofit projects based on public online voting.

ISLE's entry is to build a handicapped-accessible therapy pool for clients, many of whom are severely disabled.
